Love this book! Most "old" characters have gone through quite a lot of dramatic events by now and the final surge of important characters are arriving on stage in this book. The main "old" characters (those we followed from AGOT) are developing in surprising ways. However, it is never sure they will survive or develop in a way that you would expect or want for your favorite character... Some of the chapters of the winds of winter have been published by GRRM on his website.

I can't believe I have finally finished this series. I am a slow reader so it took me a while. I have read a fair share of fantasy novels but this has been my favorite. I am desperately waiting for winds of winds. I am glad I didn't read these books back when they were released, it the wait would been torture.
