This was nearly as good as book one (A Game of Thrones) for me. The only reason it was not given 5 stars is because there were some new characters added with slower moving story lines.
A Clash of Kings had some great battles that were easy to picture. I saw some of the characters from the first book in a whole new light because of the situations they were put in. I could not help but feel like I was in this world that GRRM created. I can't wait to get started on book #3 (A Storm of Swords). ...more

Quick review:
Once Stannis' rebellion started it was difficult to read through the battle times.
I'm not really a fan of Sansa's chapters nor Davos.
Ramsay's entry was kinda spooky.
Huh, Joffrey is a little piece of sh**.
Jon like the character yet lost it's interest towards the end.
I feel for poor Rickon and Bran.
Overall, it did not hold my attention as much as the first book did but I did like it. Hopefully the next one doesn't disappoint me as much as this one.

Jesus. You read 900+ pages of a book hoping that there will be ONE hopeful storyline or ONE loose end tied up, but I guess to expect that from GRRM is foolish.
I'm left unfullfilled, but I cannot deny how awesome this series is turning out to be. The characters in this series make up for all of the lackluster, one-dimensional characters I have ever read. ...more
