I picked up a roommate's copy and flipped through it a year or so ago, but didn't find anything particularly engaging. I feel like I may not be the audience for this one---I've heard all these hot takes before, they're now lukewarm takes at best.

I've read a few of these essays before when she originally published them on various web magazines, but it was great to finally read them in full. Due to it being collected essays, there was the usual problem with repetition from one essay to the next, especially since Gay is pretty narrow in her areas of focus, but she is smart, eloquent, and passionate.
