Holy hell! This was an intense and amazing story! I devoured this book. I was completely consumed by this story from the first paragraph, to the last. It was gruesome, sad, tragic, and at the same time, it was brutally beautiful. Surrounded by unspeakable acts of violence, an incredible love story unfolds.

I really liked the story, it was different which I really liked. But there were just a few things that didn't work for me that kept me from loving it.
The book was extremely violent and predictable. I was a bit taken back at the torture Luka went through. Alik was truly the devil.

If every book I read this year is of this calibre, then I am in for one hell of a fantastic 2015!
I can honestly say, I have no words adequate enough, to describe just how much I enjoyed this book. I could say it was amazing and gripping, because it was. I could say it was eerily disturbing in places, I could also tell you that the characters were all brought to life and you could almost smell the stench of death and depravity and feel the love and pure hatred that ran through their veins. This was a dark, dark book. It was borderline difficult to read due to certain situations. It was one of the darkest I have read. With that said I still loved it. My heart broke many times for Raze and Kisa.
I didn't think I would actually like it because it's darker than what I usually read. I loved it. I couldn't get enough. Great read, highly recommended.
