The Best thing is a good slow burn romance that will have you smile, sigh and spend a good time.
The story happens in Mariana's previous book's universe and centers around Luna's best friend Lenny.
Lenny is a tough cookie on the outside all bragging and attitude but a little marshmallowy inside. :-D
And I loved that side of her!
Former world judoka champion she can kick everybody asses while knitting a new scarf but she also has a golden heart.

Slow burn second chance? Sign me up. Lenny DeMaio has a take-no-prisoners attitude and I loved her moxie in Luna and the Lie. She’s incredibly angry with Jonah Collins, and understandably so, therefore when he shows up in her office after an 17 month silence, she’s summoning up every bit of etiquette and professionalism not to explode. 'The Best Thing' just like the title says . I don't know how she manages it but I have not read a book by this author that I didn't love.
Lenny is a strong independent woman who is brilliantly sarcastic and she is done with Jonah Collins and you get why. Of course that changes and really who wouldn't fall for a hot as sin All Black's rugby player. (I think I have found my favourite character in Jonah). Nothing else to say but I LOVED it.

This was my least favorite Ms. Zapata's book so far. I think it lacked conflict and thus were too bland. Jonah's reason for disappearance was weak, Noah was supposed to add to the conflict but that seemed a bit out of place, so while the slow relationship development was nice, that was all. However, I LOVED Grandpa Gus and Peter!!

I love Mariana. This was great, but I wanted a little more drama. Such a great writer, though. Not my favorite of hers, but it had a lot of tough competition!
