I'm speechless and shook. Kennedy Ryan took what I thought was going to be an innocuous basketball romance and turned it into something totally unexpected, but entirely epic. I should've known going in everything I'd heard about her writing and story telling was going to be true. This was my first full length novel by her that I read and it was mind-blowing!

First of all let me say it was good to see Deck and Avery make cameos in this book. I met them in the Team Player anthology Kennedy Ryan pa

Very difficult read but worth it. A tragic, heart wrenching yet rewarding story of survival, strength and enduring torture to protect your child while coming out stronger than before. Great read.

It took me long to get ready to read this book, I am glad I waited, it's a book like no other, the subjects that are within the story is not for everyone. Kennedy Ryan did an amazing job integrating both sides, the real deal some women face in real life with a character you can relate to. It's a book you get involved emotionally. A superb story you have to read when you are ready. ...more

Mind blowingly tragic and intense

Wow! Just wow.

It’s really hard to describe how intensely emotional this book is .
It’s a sports romance yes. But it’s also tragically suspenseful, heart breaking and such an important topic . Domestic violence - how slow it can creep up then stay hidden , secret, frightening and how violent it can get and be. Kennedy writes this really well!!
And on top of that , then how on the other side how there can be hope and healing and survivors can find love again.... t

So much going on in this one. Some parts are hard to read and I literally put it down I was so enraged on behalf of the heroine. I needed to go to sleep but went back to finish because I was so angry and needed to pass the part that made me mad. So good, I immediately continued on to the next book.

It was such a good book I had never read a basketball sports romance! The first half of the book was difficult to read, that I had to tackle it in doses. Overall, I really enjoyed reading Long Shot the story was beautiful. I liked how the author presented the story against domestic violence, the message was raw and true. I just wish that the end had more of a closure, because I was left with questions.
