Teardrop Shot is Tijan's 2nd full length release this year and she has at least one more to come before the year ends. If you're familiar with her work, you'll know she takes time and builds the story slowly but does it in a way that captures your attention from the very beginning and immerses you in the characters and world she has created. This book is no different and showcases the calibre of her talent brilliantly.

This book is no different and showcases the calibre of her talent brilliantly.

I found myself mesmerized by both Charlie and Reese. They're so different from the outside, but so similar when it comes to how they deal with challenges to their defences. Charlie uses quirks to keep everyone at bay around her among other things and Reese uses his basketball talents to get his feelings out. These vulnerabilities they have really helped highlight how strong they actually are. These mechanisms have kept them safe for a long time. Watching them slowly open up to each other, first as friends and then eventually as lovers was so satisfying. It just helped build their chemistry from sparks to a raging inferno.

One of my favorite aspects of this wonderful story is friendship. I loved how Charlie had true friends; Ones who even with a distance of time and space where true to her and their ties to one another. And Reese too. While he may be a superstar, he still had good people around him to look after him and make sure he was alright, even if their actions weren't always the brightest. Camaraderie is always important and both Charlie and Reese had some great ones.

It never fails to surprise me how Tijan can take a seemingly simple story and elevate it in something complicatedly magnificent. I always think it's proof of how skilled an author is when it happens and it always adds to my appreciation of the story. The themes addressed in this book are poignant and heart-felt. I not only found myself in tears as I read and my chest ached as Charlie and Reese dealt with what haunted and hurt them, but I found myself contemplating and learning so much about topics I'd never considered before.

Teardrop Shot is a brilliant story of friendship, love, and dealing with complications of life. It's enchanting and haunting and will stay with you long after you finish the last page. ...more

This is why Tijan is one of my absolute favorite authors. She is a phenomenal writer/storyteller. This book was amazing and left me speechless. I loved Charlie and her wit and inner monologues. Reese is everything. The story was different from her others and I loved every moment. It is most definitely 2019 best reads for me!!

There is no doubt why Tijan continues to be on my one click and top favorite authors, but this time I was not prepared for the emotions this book gave me. This book is a five star phenomenal read, I was expecting a sport romance, but this was so much more than that. Charlie has been dumped, proposed by the guys grandfather and fired. All the feels - damn it’s good

Tijan really has done it again !! I love the way she has a knack of writing her characters so you feel you really know them , that you want to have them in your life for real, and that the things they go through are relatable and heart pulling and just .. bring on every feeling .
This book made me laugh and cry and fall in love with Reece and Charlie ! Both are awesome characters in their own right and as always left me wanting more !
