Teardrop Shot is Tijan's 2nd full length release this year and she has at least one more to come before the year ends. If you're familiar with her work, you'll know she takes time and builds the story slowly but does it in a way that captures your attention from the very beginning and immerses you in the characters and world she has created. This book is no different and showcases the calibre of her talent brilliantly.

If you're familiar with her work, you'll know she takes time and builds the story slowly but does it in a way that captures your attention from the very beginning and immerses you in the characters and world she has created. This book is no different and showcases the calibre of her talent brilliantly.

I found myself mesmerized by both Charlie and Reese. They're so different from the outside, but so similar when it comes to how they deal with challenges to their defences. Charlie uses quirks to keep everyone at bay around her among other things and Reese uses his basketball talents to get his feelings out. These vulnerabilities they have really helped highlight how strong they actually are. These mechanisms have kept them safe for a long time. Watching them slowly open up to each other, first as friends and then eventually as lovers was so satisfying. It just helped build their chemistry from sparks to a raging inferno.

One of my favorite aspects of this wonderful story is friendship. I loved how Charlie had true friends; Ones who even with a distance of time and space where true to her and their ties to one another. And Reese too. While he may be a superstar, he still had good people around him to look after him and make sure he was alright, even if their actions weren't always the brightest. Camaraderie is always important and both Charlie and Reese had some great ones.

It never fails to surprise me how Tijan can take a seemingly simple story and elevate it in something complicatedly magnificent. I always think it's proof of how skilled an author is when it happens and it always adds to my appreciation of the story. The themes addressed in this book are poignant and heart-felt. I not only found myself in tears as I read and my chest ached as Charlie and Reese dealt with what haunted and hurt them, but I found myself contemplating and learning so much about topics I'd never considered before.

Teardrop Shot is a brilliant story of friendship, love, and dealing with complications of life. It's enchanting and haunting and will stay with you long after you finish the last page. ...more

Fantastic

I am steadily falling in love with this author! She does it again, Charlie and Reese’s love is plain and simple unwavering love. Battles with our inner demons...check, Is this love inner monologue...check, hot steamy romance and sex but just enough to make you blush...check. I fell in love with this story and could not put it down.

Speechless

Tijan has done it again, she left me speechless and with all the feels again. It was hard to put down and I think I might have slept with my kindle still in hand because I couldn't put it down. Lol It's hard for me to describe the feelings that I'm having after reading this book because they are just everywhere. And I think it was done on purpose to put the reader in this situation once they finish the book. I am definitely not mad about it though. This was an amazing read and I recomm ...more

Gutted

It did but me. It was hard to get hooked on the beginning. But was I got hooked that was it. Her story was pretty tragic. I can't imagine going through what she did with Damien. It's desperately sad what happened to him and his family. I think this is one her best books. I love Charlie and Reese!!! Reese didn't have Darby any stretch of the imagination either. I loved reading about Charlie and all her friends and I loved reading about Reese!!!! ...more
