I was terrified to read this book. I love Pepper Winters and I've read just about everything she's written, but I just wasn't ready for a dark read; Have my heart and feelings put in a blander and pureed. I waited weeks to work up the nerve to read this book and let me tell you, while the wait was worth it, so was the book. Hauntingly Romantic
I love REN and Della’s story. The story is so powerful you get lost in every page. The cover is cute and welcoming.
When I started the first page of this book I honestly didn’t know how I felt, what I did know was this story would forever be etched into my soul. It was so heart felt the innocent love of a man, a world so judgmental by a single lie, the cruelty sometimes life holds. What do you do...you run.

I highly recommend this book.
One of the things that I appreciated about this book was how the bond between Ren and Della developed over time. When their story began the reader was able to sense the resentment that he felt towards baby Della and what she represented. As time passed Ren started feeling protective of Della; they both needed each other to survive. I loved their relationship and how it gradually became more. I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
