Like just about every Tijan book I've read, this one grabbed my attention and held on right to the end. Nobody can sell a YA novel to me like Tijan can! A relatively short, standalone audiobook, I was able to finish it in 1-2 days commute time.
This story centers on Jordan, aka Jo, a college-aged girl that is hiding from her past. When Jordan was in high school, she was saved by Kian from an attack by her foster father. Kian was the billionaire "golden boy" of the town and she was a nobody.

This story started out extremely slow and weak. I was about to put it way and file it under "DNF" but I had faith in Tijan and keeper on reading with hope in my heart.
Once you get over the redundancy of some of the dialog, the story starts to take shape. It's a great story line. Doesn't cross any lines that will change the way you feel about the hardships the characters might have gone through. But you do have a better understanding of what transpired in the past. Another 5* read for tijan
Wow oh wow, I was gripped into reading this book, I read it slowly just cause I didn't want this book to end. Kian killed to protect Jordan and got sent to prison, now he is out after two years and all he wants to do is still protect her even if it that means walking way and leaving her hidden if that is what he had to do to protect her, he will do it. ...more

I can honestly say that I've always been a fan of the books by Tijan and again with this book I was not let down. This book was one that once you start reading you can't put it down. It had me guessing a few times but in the end I wasn't disappointed. ...more

I loved Kian! He was everything Jordan needed whether she knew what she needed at the moment or not. Jordan was strong as hell and when help was needed she tended to accept the help and be grateful for it. Snark was amazing, as was Erica and Wanker. When he wasn't being an ass Jake was funny and a much needed slap of reality at times. I enjoyed the ups and downs and suspense of what Kian's true motives were. I also loved if wondering if Jordan would run, out herself, or stay put and fight.
