i did quite like this book, especially the quirky characters and all the biblio- and techno- talk. maybe it's just because i've been super tired lately (and i do my reading late, in bed) and so i missed things, but i wanted to know more about these puzzles and codes everyone's trying to solve. it would have given more of a sense that i was playing along. but, an enjoyable, fairly short read.

I had no idea what Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan was about. But, turns out it was a delightful secret society mystery all about books, typography, and modern technology. It was full of delightful characters. And, I thoroughly enjoyed it and its perfect message about life and immortality.
