It flowed nicely which was good because I needed to read it pretty steadily to keep everything straight. I was drawn to Life After Life by Kate Atkinson because of its unique premise and the many glowing reviews it received. And, I am a total sucker for a story set in WWII. That being said, I enjoyed this book, but ultimately, I didn't love it. I do like the premise of Ursula being reborn and starting the same life over and over and having that vague awareness of her past lives. The concept was very intriguing to me. The main character is born, dies, and then is reborn again many times, with small changes in the story to alter the course of the book. It was very hard for me to get started, and even harder to stay interested. My book club said that they enjoyed the scenery and descriptions of the book, but agreed it was very confusing. I didn't finish.

I would have loved to give this novel 5 stars, but there were very few endearing characters and quite a few loose ends. Still a great read, though!

I liked the jumping around in time, it makes me feel some of the confusion and sense of displacement Ursula suffers. I will never say "déjà vu" without wondering a little...
