I was very intrigued by this book for two reasons: 1)I grew up in a small town in Iowa and 2)the book was a translation from Swedish to English (and I wanted to know if her perceptions matched my own experiences). Overall, it was an easy read. Reminded me a lot of Debbie Macomber's Blossom Street books. I got excited every time an Iowa city was referenced even though much of it was a little stereotypical. Very slight plot with next to nothing happening page to page. Unfortunately, no sprightly dialogue to make the pages pass quickly. Just mediocre to me, but I feel that other readers, namely Romance readers, would probably enjoy it.
