2 missing girls from a farm in Iowa right as tensions about Germans grows in the US over WWI. Started out strong... was it murder, runaways, drowning? There were too many characters to keep track of and sections switched to different character points of view. I'm not sure I pieced it all together because some things don't make sense. Glad this is a book discussion read so hopefully I can get help in understanding the end.
