I would put this at a 3.5 if Goodreads allowed it, but I liked it enough to tip it to 4. The subject matter is heavy and it is not treated lightly. It's realistic, which means it's a painful journey through mental health crises and how they affect people. It was a surprise at the end that the entire book really wasn't leading where I thought it would for several reason, and I've thought back on it several times.
