Lillian is a little pretentious, and at first I wanted to just give up on her. She ends up having redeeming qualities and you get a better picture of how she becomes the person she is on her New Year's Eve walk.
A novel that is driven by female empowerment, employment, and equality, it's easy to read. While probably not a book I couldn't put down, the last half or so is a faster pace and with more details that make Lillian sympathetic. That's kind of the point, that she's hard to get to know, but ...more
