This brief book is an essay that packs an emotional and intellectual punch. Coming from the perspective of a translator and then a college professor the author gives us an intense look at the world of the child refugees streaming into the US from Central America. Then she moves from the tragicly personal to the startlingly political. The plight of these children and youth is bound every day to history and politics.
