The story of Lale and Gita is interesting, and I find Lale's tenacity impressive and inspiring. A lot of people have complained about how poorly written this book was, and I agree with that. It's very basic, very little in-depth characterization and a lack of beautiful prose. Apparently the author had the story as a screenplay for 12 years before publishing it as a novel, and you can tell that she's not familiar with novel writing.
