Well, that was weird. I still don't really understand the plot. I don't know that I would have found this enjoyable at all if it weren't for the fact that Autumn is doing a Philosophy elective this year and some of those ideas were woven through the story. I feel like the story was only half-told and I have no idea if the ending was meant to be happy or sad. But I think that may have been what the author intended.

I started this book long ago, and somehow never finished it. Joyce Carol Oates writes about such a dark time, but it was an enjoyable and believable read.
