If you ever wondered what would happen if you mixed Harry Potter, Twilight, and a Harlequin romance, this is your book. Dutifully read for book club only to realize it's part of a trilogy so not only a book I didn't like but no closure to the story. I don't think I will worry about following the storyline to the end.

Enjoyed it so much, I ordered Book 2 while I was away on vacation.
I loved this book! It's like a grown-up and more sophisticated version of Twilight, with a strong female witch as the main character, surrounded by a host of Witches, vampires, daemons and humans. Lots of romance, plenty of mystery and suspense and nice touches of historical references.

I must have misremembered how this book went. Thought I'd try and finish the series and reread the first book. I thought there was no romance (well that is sorta true) but I did not remember it being a typical twilight type story. Male vampire is controlling/possessive and Female witch just immediately falls in love and does whatever vamp says.
