What Members Thought
After far too long away from this delightful series, I tucked myself back into the whimsical arms of Jasper Fforde's insane family of characters. In this outing, Thursday Next is at home with her husband and children, and working at Acme Carpets as a front for her work in the BookWorld. She's training new agents, solving ever-increasing mysteries, and dealing with the rising "stupidity surplus" in the world. (Alarmingly close to real life, if you ask me.)

If possible, this Thursday Next book is even more meta than the first four -- but in a delightful way. There were a few plot threads I could have used a wrap-up on (Thursday's daughter Jenny, for one) and a few I could have used more details on (just about everything with Friday) and a few things that seemed resolved too efficiently, but given the cliff-hanger of an ending, I'm guessing Fforde is going to give us a sixth Thursday Next title reasonably soon, and I'm content to wait. I love Jasper Fforde. I adore Thursday Next. The mystery, the time travel, the alternate reality, the humor, the puns!!!! Plus, who doesn't love a pet dodo?
