This is not my first of Meltzer's works, and I have enjoyed and learned from each one. After reading the entire book, I read the author's comments at the end and was intrigued to learn that, although it is a work of fiction, it is based on historical events and 'real' people.I wish I had known that from the beginning.

The story of the creation of Superman....the story of Cain and Abel...the father/son relationship...friendship....career passion...I wonder if this would have been a 3 or a 4 if I had read it visually instead of listening? Hmmm.... hard to tell.
