I'm not sure that the authors actually like the romance genre (look at me, defending romance after ragging on it for so long!). I felt that the tone was less tongue-in-cheek and more snide mocking. And it just wasn't very clever or funny (although the footnotes directing the reader on their path were much funnier!). An extra point for a delightful idea, but after finishing one storyline I had zero interest in going back for another round. DNF. ...more

You know in Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail, where the knights decide not to return to Camelot, because "it's a silly place". Well, I feel like that phrase could also sum up this book. It is a very silly place. But in a good way. I haven't read a book this ridiculous but fun in awhile. From the charming cover art to the attractive (although also over the top) illustrations inside, from the variety of settings to choose from to the wide range of possible endings to end up with, thi ...more

He has the good looks and cynicism of the world’s finest dandy and the eyes of the world’s hungriest wolf. His smirk gives you ideas, which your other ideas must threaten with a stern talking-to in order to keep them in line.

This was a madcap delight, with heaping servings of crazy sauce. Wheelbarrows full of crazy sauce! I laughed out loud, which is something I rarely do! I hope this writing duo is working on a sequel!!

The situation is getting increasingly messy. You can’t separate fact

This was a fun read and brought me back to the days of using every finger I had to hold my place so I could go down a different route. I read this on Kindle so technology made it both harder and easier to follow each path. The writing is intentionally terrible but the sex scenes are hilarious. I got a little obsessed with making sure I followed every path so tended to skim some, and I'm still not sure I got every one. Fun book if you were a fan of these as a kid. I don't typically read romance n ...more

The premise of an interactive book seemed like fun. In reality, I got tired, very quickly of bouncing from page to page. I think if it was in e-book format where you could just tap a link to go to the option I picked it would be better. I gave up after about 30 minutes of reading.

Technically I'm abandoning or DNF-ing this one, but since I read one of the strands to its conclusion I going to mark it as read. It seems that I no more enjoy choose your own adventures now than I did as a child. Nice idea, though. ...more

This books set out to be exactly what it said it was. It was full of the classical story lines, mixed in with a few modern twist. It was a great romance novel, but it wasn't trying to be. ...more

I can see how this could be fun, unfortunately for me I just did not gel with it. Instead of enjoying the light hearted stories, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at many of the interactions.

Two stars because a choose your own adventure romance book is such a fun idea. The writing was terrible, though, and the storylines were unimaginative.
