This was kind of a let down because I loved Josh Malerman's Bird Box. I was really enjoying the first part of the book, I liked the narrative style but then it kind of started dragging for me and the ending felt very anticlimactic. I had a similar problem with the ending in Bird Box but it wasn't as bad as this one.

I can see if you are uncomfortable with open endings why you may have rated this book lower. First thanks #netgalley for an ARC of this book. What I really liked about this book: Pace, realistic characters --> Josh Malerman did such a great job at creating the appropriate awkwardness of teenagers coming of age and seeking out first dates.
