We can only feel sorry for ourselves when our misfortunes are still supportable… once this limit is crossed, the only way to bear the unbearable is to laugh at it.
The story of this woman is so deeply touching, there are no words to describe it.
Wonderful.
I read the first book many years ago and still remember it. This book was just as great. Marjane is little older in this one, she is a teenager, trying to fit in with kids in Austria. She is a little overwhelmed by all the freedom she now has and not sure what to do with it. At the same time, she feels a lot of guilt because she is further disconnecting from her past and because her loved ones are still suffering.
