I had an awesome review of this book but Goodreads ate it. I'm going to cheat and not try to recreate it. The review itself was too emotional and intense (much like this book) to be able to do it justice again. I'm disappointed that I can't express myself quite the same way again.

Wonderful book. The effects of PTSD are amazing are far reaching. What a gripping story told by the daughter of a vet. I've always loved Anderson (she tells a great story) with such wonderful, well-developed characters you feel you are in her protagonist's world.

It was a thrill to meet Laurie Halse Anderson at PLA when she signed my book. A real book celebrity! I feel like all YA realistic fiction I read is trying to be a LHA novel. Her ability to tap into current issues make her one of the most important YA writers, and her look into post-combat PTSD is essential. Wonderful book about a child's and then teen's reaction to her father's PTSD. This one lived up to Anderson's usual wonderful writing & storytelling. Highly recommend and good for both middle & high school in my opinion.
