So, in a lot of ways, the format of this is very similar to New York 2140: multiple perspectives, successive chapters following different characters, and in the end, the characters finally link together. Its just that Becky Chambers seems to tie it all together so much better. And manages to do so in a much tighter book.

Another character driven story in the same universe as the other Becky Chambers books. For those hoping for more stories about previous characters, you will be disappointed here--there is only a family connection that is briefly discussed. Still, even though very little happens in terms of plot, I did enjoy following these characters along. In many ways, even though most of the characters were adults, this felt like a coming of age story.

I’d started this before and didn’t get too far, confused about how this connected to the other books in the series (barely) and how the different sections were supposed to relate to one another. What made the difference was reading other reviews here so I understood what I was looking at, ha. Eh. Not much to say here. 2.5 bumped up to 3 because Rachel Dulude is a fantastic narrator. I mixed up all 3 female main characters and didn't feel this really had a cohesive story. I get what the author was going for but it didn't work for me. I liked the first 2 books much better, with A Closed and Common Orbit my favorite. I read this for a found family for a reading challenge and I don't think it really fits so will likely find something else for that prompt. The first two books fit really w
