What Members Thought

Not my favorite book of the series. I actually had a difficult time getting through the last book. I had a hard time when the author would introduce a new character and then within a couple chapters kill off the character. At times I felt that it was unexplained. I was also unsettled with the ending and the way the whole story was resolved.

I thought that this was such a nice way to end the His Dark Materials series. The books did, however, grow progressively weaker in terms of story as the series went on (in my opinion) and became much more blatant in their symbolism. Looking at it as objectively as I possibly can though, I thought it brought closure to the reader and was a fitting story for the final volume of a beloved series.

This was my "trilogy, book 3" #2015ReadingChallenge book. I liked the series, and the last book was the best of all three. Even so, it didn't live up to my expectations - that's what I get for reading previous reviews I suppose.
