This story is all the more horrifying because it is true. As a boy Masaji Ishikawa, born in Japan, migrates to North Korea with his family in searchnof the promised land. Instead they find oppression, poverty, and despair. Masaji lives more than 30 years in these conditions before he attempts an escape. Honest, raw and devastating. I had no idea how truly horrible the every day life of a North Korean can be.
