Loved. NPR calls this book sweet but not saccharine, and that it is. Great narrator’s voice and style mixed with whimsical details and observations of serious life-changing events make a thoroughly engaging, entertaining read on a tragic topic like Alzheimer’s and family changes. This sparse book almost reads like a long short story, and I recommend reading it in one or two sittings— which I didn’t do due to my life and back to school but wish I could have. Sad subject-matter, but written in a really clever, funny, sort of random way. I loved how the dad kept a journal of all the cute, funny things Ruth did as a child. I really liked it!
