I really loved Scarlett Johansson's reading of this story. She did an excellent job with the different voices. The story itself is honestly nonsensical. I have always loved Alice in Wonderland and never bothered to read the true story by Lewis Carroll. Now that I have I am a little torn. I love the nonsense in the story and at the same time, it didn't feel like a real story. Just a jumbling of weird things and thoughts. ...more

This is the first time I have read this book, I had it as a child but the Disney movie is one of my least favorite movie ever, so I don't think I ever got around to finish back then, I believe most of the "meaning" and "symbols" of the book when over my head, but I read it as a group read, and I 'm sure the discussion would bring theme up, but they way is written is so beautiful and whimsical that I couldn't help but enjoy it. ...more

Around the Year in 52 Books 2023 Prompt: a book that is light

This was a quick, fun read! I remember enjoying the movie as a child, but had never read the book. While I think I enjoy the movie more, it was fun to be reintroduced to the characters and then meet some more that are not included in the movie.

Omg we FINALLY finished this book. We've been working on it for almost a year, which is my fault because I did NOT like it. My 4-yr old LOVED it though and he can't wait to read the sequel. Mama needs a break though.... lol. ...more
