I was so disappointed when the Epilogue began... that meant this unique and creative book was almost over and I didn't want it to stop! I've been a fan of Stephenson since I read Snow Crash many years ago. I love the way he combines his skills as a literary wordsmith with his abundant knowledge of science and technology, and this book was no exception. My favorite space novel since The Martian. Breathtaking in scope but still very readable and enjoyable. Will definitely read again!

2.75-3* I read 2/3 of this book. I liked aspects of it, while at the same time feeling bogged down by all of the technical science explained throughout. This book is LONG! I think it would be much better if it had been edited down significantly. I really wanted to love this, but I just could not get myself to spend the necessary time to finish it.
