I've read a fair amount of Jodi Picoult, and she's got a tried-and-true formula: pick a social issue, center a family and legal trial around the issue, and let the pot boil. My favorites by her so far have been My Sister's Keeper and Plain Truth- her later ones haven't appealed as much to me. This book, however, got me to blast through it in two days, neglecting husband and sleep.

If I could give 3.5 stars to this book, I would. It follows the usual Jodi Picoult pattern. This time, the controversy involves religion, same-sex marriages and reproductive rights. The courtroom section of the book was pretty well done, even if it seemed a little too loose.

Yet another one by Jodi Picoult, it wasn't my favorite of her books, but it was still very interesting. As usual, it has it's typical Jodi flavor - the taboo topic, the court room trial, and the stories told by each character's perspectives. This time it dealt with homosexuality and whether or not they are able to raise children. It was kind of funny that she mentioned the Westboro Baptist Church because the character I found the most interesting was Pastor Clive Lincoln, even though we never te
