I love this book, it's beautifully written, I recommended to everyone!

I wanted to say is 4.5*, but only due to my crazy I don't like to give 5*, but could't think of a single reason why I shouldn't give it all 5, this was really fantastic.

This was an excellent memoir and one I enjoyed reading in verse.

I love everything I've read by Jacqueline Wilson and this childhood memoir written in free verse is no exception. It tells of her young life divided between the free, or at least freer north and the times she l lived and visited her grandparents in the south. Times when, even after segregation was no longer official her grandmother still rode the back of the bus to make sure there was no trouble, still didn't try to eat at the counter in Woolworth's etc. Jacqueline knew from very early on, that ...more
