Sherlock Holmes is dead. A Pinkerton detective and a Scotland Yard Holmes wanna-be link up to chase down a notorious American gangster who has arrived in London to take over the territory of the presumed dead criminal, Professor Moriarty.
A little slow going in the beginning but picked up speed around the middle and kept me up late to get to the finish - a finish that I never saw coming and one that left me feeling totally surprised and just a little duped.

Anthony Horowitz has been a childhood hero for me.
I've always been an avid reader and since I was very young I had a knack for the weird and scary tales.
Horowitz was one of my favourite writers because he wrote a different kind of novels. The Sinister Secret of Frederick K. Bower, Groosham Grange, The Falcon's Malteser, Public Enemy Number Two to name a few of those children's novels who enticed my thirst for the mystic and unknown.
