I am less certain that this book describes teenage angst as it motors through the breakdown of a boy's mind. The tone starts almost like a conversation but it is frenetic you can almost see his mind moving ahead of his actions. From the beginning it reads almost like the diary of a schizophrenic. I enjoyed the book, but i cannot claim that i was drawn to Holden's character. Many of the words i had not encountered before "flit" means to move house in the UK

I know this is a classic and I'm supposed to like it but I really didn't. Holden is just annoying to me, but I'm sure I'm not the target audience for this work.
