I had a really hard time rating this book. I liked the plot and the twists and turns and all that. Rhysand's crew is amazing and are a big part of what I liked about this book. But I literally found myself rolling my eyes at the romance. Why does every romance need to be the ultimate thing ever to have happened? Can't a fantasy book just have a relationship that slowly grows without some kind of catch making it the greatest thing ever? I'm sure I'll eventually read the next book in the series be

I enjoy this series because the story and characters are super engaging. My biggest issue with this series is that it is located in the YA section in bookstores and libraries-this is definitely not a young adult novel. There is graphic mature content and violence-making it hard to recommend. (Around the Year Reading Challenge: a really long book (600+ pages))
