Wonderful! It took me a while to finally read this book, and I wish I hadn’t waited so long. It’s amazing! I highly recommend it to fellow WWII fans...however, it is not for the squeamish...there are images in here that are medically very disturbing. Such an amazing book based on true people and events. 💜

In two of the last three novels I have read, I learned in the 'Acknowledgement' following the texts that they are somewhat auto/biographical. In both instances, had I known that in advance, my 4 stars would more likely been 5's.
