3.5 stars - The true life stories this book is based on are fascinating and I spent much time online reading about the actual people (Caroline Ferriday, Herta Oberheuser, Nina Ivanska and the other "rabbits" at Ravensbruck).

Its been a while since I read a WWII novel. This was quite good, 2 of the 3 main characters were real people. Despite the difficulty in reading the chapters that took place in the concentration camp from the perspective of Kasia, it's good to be reminded of how truly awful humans can be to one another. I've not read or studied much about the Polish invasion/occupation and subsequent mass imprisonment and execution so that was interesting (and horrific) to learn about. Lilac Girls is well written
