It was just okay. I guess I was expecting more as it was my first Liane Moriarty book. It was just a little...slow. I’d try another of her books though.

I have read one other of Liane Moriarty's books - Big Little Lies - and I really liked it. I thought I would really like this one also, but this was an "Eh" for me. Yes something happens, yes you are left in suspense over what exactly happened, and unfortunately, yes, it drags on for the entire book. The book goes back and forth from "day of the barbecue" to present day. That didn't bother me. What did bother me was that it felt so anti-climactic. 3.5 stars I agree with a lot of the "slow burn" story reviews. While I liked this one just a little less then Big Little Lies I still was intrigued by the story itself. One of the few books I brought with me on vacation that I read for a couple hours on the train. I kind of wish I knew more of an ending for the third couple though. I almost felt like after a bit of the middle they floated off and disappeared. But I did really like the story and Ms. Moriarty is becoming a favorite author. This wa ...more
