This is the second time reading this book. I have to admit I have this book 5 stars the first time I read it but really the book bored me to tears. I felt like I had to gush and say I loved it because everyone did. I decided to reread it and give it an honest star rating and believe it I'd not the second time was the charm. I TRULY LOVED IT!!! I was so new to fantasy and had just read the Grisha Trilogy that was so amazing. This one wasn't as soon packed until the second half. Im glad I tried it

I read this for diverseathon. First off I want to start of saying I read the Grisha trilogy and loved it. If you haven't read the Grisha trilogy you can still read this. There are very minor spoilers but not anything (unless you are super observant) that would ruin the trilogy for you. Returning to this world was wonderful and I loved all the little things I knew because I had read the Grisha trilogy beforehand. Leigh Bardugo is a master at writing amazing characters and this is no exception. ...more

A HIGH four stars, honestly, but I just can’t with Matthias’s redemption-through-love arc. Other than that, loved it!
Just a short review for this book because there's already so many reviews. I'd read the first in the Shadow and Bone series so I was familiar with the Grisha world. Everyone says you don't need to read that first but I really think this book would be hard to understand if you hadn't read that first. So much was explained in Shadow and Bone that wasn't explained here. In Six of Crows, it's just assumed that you know what a Grisha is.

I think I'm YA-fantasy-ed out currently. I should have liked this one better but I just couldn't get in to it. Perhaps it was the audio format that made it difficult to keep up with the characters and names? Too much conflict?

Took me a hot minute to get acquainted with all the characters and landmarks in this one. However once I had my bearings I loved the ride. Twists and turns throughout. I'll be reading the next one for sure. Enjoyed it a great deal.
