What Members Thought
This is my second read of Karr's marvelous book. Why marvelous? Well, how many people could write about their wildly unpredictable, passionate, dangerous parents without holding a giant pity party devoid of humor. Karr does quite the opposite. She sees and says it all: the wonder, the terror, of living with such parents. The whole 'my careless parents' narrative is reduced to what it is: reductive.
