June 2018 I think I may have to DNF this book...... I find that it's too much explaining and not a lot of doing and it's irritating me.
I don't think Robin Hobb isn't for me I've decided to DNF.....I hate giving up but OMG 89 pages and I'm bored...

I decided to give Robin another chance. Adding this book to my try again. But first I'm start with her first series Assassin's Apprentice then come back to this book once I finish the first series.

It took me a while to get into this huge book as there are a lot characters with what seems to be equal emphasis on them as protagonists but I was soon entranced. As you could guess from the title most of the action is set many boats, and mostly at sea.
It is almost completely separate from the previous trilogy but it is set in the same world but far away. I think this is probably the best pirate book I have ever read (not that I have read many).
Just don't read this book unless you can get hold ...more
