I liked how the first half kept the reader in the dark. You realize that both Amy and Nick are unreliable narrators, but you don't know who to trust. Then, just when I started to feel manipulated by the author, she let the reader in. The contrast between being in the dark for the first half, and then knowing more than the characters in the second half was interesting. Also, I really enjoyed the genre fiction aspects of it. Page turners are really helpful when I have a hundred distractions with a

Sweet Jeebus thank God that's finally over. I didn't think I'd ever get to the end. It was so incredibly BORING. Even when I finally got to the infamous "omg" moment it still wasn't enough to save the book. Then after the initial surprise moment it went right back to the tedious never-ending story I've come to know and loathe.

I usually am not one to write reviews, but this book has left me feeling so frustrated when I finished. On one hand, I was utterly engrossed in the story, not able to put the book down because I just HAD to find out what crazy crap was going to happen next. I loved this book right up until the end when I wanted to throw it across the room. However, after stewing with it a while, I decided I still loved it for making me have such a strong reaction to it. There were enough plot twists to keep me guessing, even though I had certain things figured out before I read them.
I would recommend the book, but without giving away spoilers, be prepared to scream, "WHAT THE F*CK!" when you're done. ...more
