This will be the first book I have even placed on my page...so here goes. Loved it!!! I thought I had read it years ago, but every time I turned a page I kept thinking that nothing seemed familiar and I couldn't remember anything or anyone about the story. So now I am claiming this read through as the first one and I loved it. I related to Francie more than I ever thought I would and cheered for her, felt bad for her, remembered my own past experiences and then felt bad for myself and in the end

What a wonderful book! I just adore Francy, the central character, and her whole family of unique individuals. It's a story of live and of truth and the beauty of everyday things.

I really liked this book. So many interesting tidbits about life in the early 20th century. Some details have changed, but the underlying themes are still the same.
