This scared the beejesus out of me. I was reading alone in my apartment late at night ... when I got to the scene where the little boy's "friend" is knocking at his (second-story) window ... there was a knock on my door. I screamed out loud!

A quintessential Stephen King novel that would have been a four-star book for me if it wasn't for all the mansplaining.

It wasn't as scary as I expected it to be but it was a good story. I think the vampires of Twilight have ruined it for me, haha.

I fear my Stephen King fan card may be taken away but I didn't love this. It rambles, it's not that scary, and the confrontation at the end is underwhelming. It took me 3 weeks to get through and while yes it's 650 pages that's a long time for me.
