This rating reflects more of my own response to the subject that the creativeness of the writer. I found this book hard to read as it was written from the perspective of a woman who was losing her ability to remember and who mixed past and present events together. My own mother had dementia. I am in my 70s. Perhaps if my life experience had been different or my age younger, I would have rated this book higher. Still it is a well-written story...even if the topic was hard for me.

My only negative is that it started to drag in the latter part and that made it feel like the end took forever to happen and should have happened sooner.... otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.

This book is nothing like Still Alice (a fave by Lisa Genova) other than it does an amazing job of getting us inside the mind of a person struggling with dementia/Alzheimer's... as the disease robs the main character of her life... and how impacts those who care for and love her. Powerful stuff.
