What woman or girl doesn't love this book? it is the penultimate girl story--the unloved finding love, homeless finding a home and family, red hair turning auburn...the story is timeless and charming, no matter when you read it. Anne (with an E) learns, lives, and loves, all in a beautiful rural setting in a long ago time. I own these books and will read them to my children many times over.

A multi-time re-read, this time on audio (the Rachel McAdams version) with my daughter. One of the most wonderful books ever written, and I'm so happy my daughter is now a huge Anne fan, too. All the stars!!!

I originally tried to read this book as a little girl. Unfortunately, even as a kid, I never had much use for over-done, flowery, descriptive writing. It's a great book. It's well written and I love Anne and Marilla and Matthew and Diana but good grief it's taking me forever to get through it. I can't stand to read but a few pages at a time before I have to put it down and do something else. I get Anne's creative imagination and her love for big words and it all makes sense in the scope of the s
