aww, it's a classic, and a cute one. Who couldn't love little Tom Sawyer up to his tricks? he's a classic character, much like Dennis the Menace in his own time. Whitewashing the fence, reappearing at his own funeral--the book is full of fun and humor and life. This deserves to be the classic it is. I recommend it for everyone to read, especially if they haven't yet. ...more

Very readable, easy to see why this story would have been so popular -- especially with boys -- when it was first published.
