Wow. I liked this book. How the author wrote a story about domestic abuse that was also funny, I don't know. Maybe it was the character of Madeline, who couldn't be cowed by anyone. She said the funniest things. On the serious side, if you want to find out how a victim of domestic abuse thinks about her situation, read this.

Basically the only reason I read this book was because I saw the trailer for the tv series and wanted to know the story before watching it.
And I'm glad I read it!
Despite being pretty predictable (I guess everything except who died), I thoroughly enjoyed the book. As it was speeding towards the conclusion, I found myself stressing out trying to figure out who died! I was tempted to skip ahead just to find out, but I was glad I didn't.
